Description
The tree garden near the river tweed facing the road side and a little village beyond, photo taken as a wide angled view to bring in the beauty of the foilage. The garden has ancient calendonian pines plus a number of other old trees, some being 400yrs old; in the picture are calendonian pines, some of the original scottish heritage that used to be in a vast forest...these used to be in the grounds of Waverley castle and now has been converted into a hotel and are cared for by a local gardener that knows how to care for ancient trees such as these, there are lights to light the way at night through the garden. The trees in picture are 2 calendonian pines one is 200yrs old and the other 400 yrs old, the latter has a cascade of beautiful foilage covering its very wide trunk, the other has spread its foilage across and its bark is a rich brown with the summer sun's rays catching it, a beautiful place to sit as there are seats provided here. The smell of the pine is both exhilerating and relaxing. beyond the trees, past the cluster of cottages, is the River Tweed sparkling in the sunlight with the rolling hills of the border country of Southern Scotland in the far distance
