Description
The Swirling tides of New Brighton I captured here as the tides from the River Mersey to the right meet Liverpool Bay to the left. Liverpool Bay also has a current coming in from the Irish sea to the far left. These tides are phenominal to New Brighton that is part of Wallasey's coastal region in the Wirral Peninsula, New Brighton being at the tip of the top end of the peninsula going inland and out to sea. There is a vast beach to the left and a rocky beach to the right meeting up to Liverpool's vast skyline to the right and Bootle's Docksides as the River Mersey joins Liverpool bay. A lighthouse stands along these currents and in the past guiding ships along at night, the lighthouse is for show now and there is another means of light that comes from Liverpool to guide those ships and ferries along this coast. There were caves and caverns with smugglers coves along these beaches in the past and the lighthouse served them well with its guiding light, since those days they have been removed and built upon made into golf courses, recreation grounds and parks. It would have been nice to have left New Brighton as a cove, but smugglers were dealt with somehow here by removing those coves, but despite that the merciless tides still engulfs New Brighton and can be dangerous to walk out too far when these tides are coming in together as Ive captured here as a swirling curve, when you think you are walking on dry land you can turn around and the swirling tide has surrounded you.
