Description
At the riverside on the River Kent at the edge of the Kirklands in Kendal Cumbria, a lovely stroll after walking through the parks and visiting the art gallery and museum there, children were playing along its banks, swans and water birds were gliding along its waters, a lovely day on the verge of spring in mid March, the sky was grey but the sun was peeping through and was very warm for that time of year.
The river originates in hills surrounding Kentmere, and flows for around 20 miles (32 km) into the north of Morecambe Bay. The Lake District National Park includes the upper reaches of the river within its boundaries. The river passes through Kentmere, Staveley, Burneside, Kendal and Sedgwick.
