Description
It was getting quite late on my last visit to Avenham park and the sky was filling in ready for a rainfall making the evening dusk come swiftly, the lanterns are just lighting up and you can see the glimmer of their light amongst the trees...a lovely picturesque walkway through Avenham park in Preston amongst the old restored lampposts of a bygone era gives it a nostalgic feel, with bamboo fencing along the pathway and in the distance is the rail bridge of the London to Glasgow train, that goes across the park at speed from Preston station which is not far away, the lanterns continue under the bridge and beyond on both sides of the pathway and has been named the Avenue of Lanterns because that's what it is. I did get back to the city centre for coffee at Fishergate before the rain came
