Description
A lovely scene on one of Scotland's beautiful islands, Seil Island, this island bridge is unique as it has an estuary from the Atlantic Ocean flowing under it, here as pictured, with a curved gravel road leading up over it, this is the first point of the Atlantic Ocean from Britain and is a popular tourist attraction to cross The Antlantic Ocean at this point, from the mainland of Scotland to the island, it must be the narrowest part of this vast ocean. the Bridge is therefore named by popular opininion, The Bridge over The Atlantic. The Isle of Seil lies some 12 miles south of Oban. The island's main village, Ellenabeich, comprises neat white terraces of cottages crouching below a cliff face, I love this photo it was a perfect summers day with lovely grassy banks and wild flowers surrounding this famous bridge, I therefore crossed it a number of times on foot, and even went across on the coach, that was quite something, and I took some photos from the bridge across the bays

Thankyou so much Lesley for the feature of this image in your group Islands of the United Kingdom. I have no island Lighthouse pictures but lots of Lighthouse pictures, some on Peninsulas and others on the Northern coast.

Such a beautiful scene, a perfect place for an afternoon walk, or any time of day, for that matter. So refreshing.

This is lovely. It mkaes me think of The Shire. I visualize Hobbits crossing the bridge :-)
Joan-Violet Stretch replied:
Yes some of The Hobbits may live on Siel Island, I do know that Elijah Woods loves Scotland's landscapes :))
