Description
This picture focuses on the the wonderful architecture of the huge torrents and towers with its spires and steeples of York Minster, this being the main tower as you walk through the gates into the grounds of this historical building there are towers and torrents all around it and beautiful large windows of stained glass which can be viewed from the inside, looking spectacular, there is a tour of this building with a fee of about £9 to £11 and well worth it for the amount you see and the historical informative information given, but you have to give yourselves time as the tour is rather long. The Cathedral's splendour is not allowed to be overshadowed by any other building, therefore a taller building in York city is forbidden...such a change for a prominent city like York to have no multi storey apartments or skyscrapers and it looks better for it, yet New York in America which was named after this historic city is the opposite which has some of the tallest buildings in the world and contains the very first skyscrapers
