Mixed Media - Black Marker Pen With Paint Sticks On White Card
Description
I found this old sketch of Cilla Black scribbled on a piece of white card this week amongst my old art folder contents, of her during the 1960's I forgot I had it, drawn with a marker pen and orange and grey paint sticks I used colour filters and texture to give depth to the picture a reflection of her fame that came suddenly during the Beatles years in Liverpool she soared to fame with Anyone Who Had a Heart and You're my World which hit the no 1 spots. It's a sad week this week with her suddenly taken from us, I was shocked to hear of it, as I felt a closeness to her as I followed in her footsteps at the Cavern, the Iron Door, The Blue Angel and the Zodiac bar not as a singer but I was in those places she had been and saw her just the once at The Cavern with Beryl Marsden when she came to visit her fans there whilst it was still a drinks free bar for teenagers before it got too commercial and one had to be over 18 to get in there because they installed a bar that sold alcoholic drinks in the later 1960's I saw the last of the class acts there and was glad to be part of it and even met my husband there. RIP Cilla you will be greatly missed
