A lovely white poppy growing on a grass verge in Churchtown village near to where I live, this caught my eye as I walked along the pavement therefore I had to take a photo as it was so beautiful to see with its fine white petals glowing in the evening sun. The white poppy symbolises serenity and peace, long before the red poppy was used for a peace pledge, and remembering those lost in the wars. The White poppy represents peace now without blood shed and is used on Remembrance Day by some...it was lovely to come across this flower by chance on Sunday, I felt an inner peace when I saw it, the flower was quite huge and could not be missed as I passed it by.
I am an artist and photographer I studied art in both Liverpool and Southport, I have works in acrylics, pastel, pencil, pen, ceramics, watercolours and photography, my work varies from portraits to landscapes abstract and still life, in both art and photography. I also use mixed media mixing some of my hand painted and sketched art with digital media and I have floral works in photography and digital designs. I have had my works at many exhibitions and know some other artists. I live in Southport and most of my work is accomplished there. I also write poetry and illustrate them.
