Wayfarers Arcade 2 Canvas Print

A watercolour painting I did of Southport's Lord Street Wayfarers Arcade, I did this in the 1980's when it was a thriving shopping coastal town...I painted this whilst sat on the opposite side of the road with difficulty due to traffic, I finished it at home, after taking a photo of the scene. There are lovely Victorian buildings on Lord Street and this is a fine example of these type of buildings, the facade has been added with a font inscribed into painting in this version, actually the arcade facade is now in green rather than red fitting the interior colours more, the shops in and around the arcade have changed as well, also the young tree has grown into a mature tree, this painting is now a piece of nostalgia, a history of Southport; only available in the smaller sizes and greeting cards now due to print quality of resolutions available. I've now placed the artwork in my festive collection alongside my festive greetings of Wayfarer's Arcade and would make fine festive greeting car...

I am an artist and photographer I studied art in both Liverpool and Southport, I have works in acrylics, pastel, pencil, pen, ceramics, watercolours and photography, my work varies from portraits to landscapes abstract and still life, in both art and photography. I also use mixed media mixing some of my hand painted and sketched art with digital media and I have floral works in photography and digital designs. I have had my works at many exhibitions and know some other artists. I live in Southport and most of my work is accomplished there. I also write poetry and illustrate them.
