Description
The Bridge House over the river Stock Beck that runs through the old part of Ambleside built in the 17th century as an apple store from the nearby orchid at the time as a way to avoid land tax...since then its been a cobblers, a family home of 8 people, a tea shop, a tourist info office and now a show piece for tourists to view.
It’s also one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District National Park and you won’t travel through Ambleside without tourists taking photos or popping inside.
Locals walk past it every day and many drive past it on their way to work or another village. It really is something out of a fairytale...something that cant be ignored, I have framed my photo of this iconic building in a vintage style frame to enhance its nostalgic appeal. Taken with a vertical view at the edge of the river wall to accommodate both house and bridge whilst standing at the edge of the wall over the flowing river Stock Beck.
