Description
An abstract painting of L.S Lowry a portrait portraying his matchstick men and his life within the picture, his father who owned numerous clocks and was a clock mender and when he died at 3 o'clock the clocks were all stopped at that time, he used to paint with his suit on and had a famous signature of a 5 legged dog, I've used the flake white he used in the background of his pictures and the vermillion reds, I have some of his pictures back to front, the easel is taken from his original easel. I really researched into Lowry's life when I painted this picture, depicting that he was a little bit mad, so hence the grin, he did like a joke as well and he was a recluse, his companions being his own creations. Bigger sizes now available and better resolutions, the original work is framed in pinewood without glass showing the raw canvas surface it looks like an oil painting even though it is acrylic work as it has been applied as such, it has a gloss finish resembling linseed oil. The original work has been on TV at Martin Henfields painting competition and has been accepted in exhibitions by local artists at the Atkinson Art Galleriy and other exhibitions in and around Southport; it is not for sale as an original but only as prints on here as I treasure this work and how it was accomplished, but I am open to offers
