Artist's Description
A view of Adlington Hall's paved courtyard that was originally where the stables and visitors came to rest their horses and receive refreshment, there is a lovely cafe near that serves the most wonderful homemade sandwiches and cakes when visiting the manor it's worth a visit to this cafe, plenty of coffee and tea is served and refilled with it or you can sit out here in the courtyard on a fine day. The Tudor wing here is one of the oldest parts of the manor the roof being uneven caused by the different buildings added over the centuries, the door post that surrounds the porch-archway exit ahead is one of the original beams of the manor house around the 10th century and made from an oak tree...the picture is straight, the pavings, as you can see, are in parallel lines across the picture, the house is uneven naturally because of its history, a grand place to visit and looks lovely in black and white reflecting the lovely Tudor beams within the facade of the manor house
