Description
A picture I took one day, whilst strolling through Astley Park with my family, of an English oak tree's trunk and roots, it caught my eye as the bark texture and roots looked perfect and were tinged with gold during the late afternoon sunshine. The English oak is the tree that represents all that is bold, strong and beautiful, a fine tree that graces many of our rural places and parks in England, it's branches reach up and out on a grand scale and are lovely against the skyline in both winter and summer months, a lovely tree and a proud tree an English tree.
I added an extract of a poem to this photo by Johnny Ray Ryder Jr as it describes the oak roots and could be likened to Britain as the oak tree has been a symbol of the country's strength for centuries
