The stables with the courtyards beyond at the Manor at Dunham Massey in Cheshire, these were used in days gone by for the main transport being horses, this being about one of the busiest parts of the Manor House with comings and goings of the whole household and guests as well as staff and servants, quiet now and eerie as one wanders around looking at them, did I hear the sound of hoofs and the silent crack of a whip with the crackle of wheels over the cobbles?
