Description
The People were Fair, they had Flowers in their Hair and Stars in their Brows, was the name of the first successful album of Tyrannosaurus Rex with Marc Bolan, before the band changed their style and were called T. Rex, the famous glam rock band, they were originally troubadours with a following that visited different towns and cities including Liverpool, were my brother John used to go to their, quite serious, underground folkie concerts, they were based in London and Marc was a Londoner, but also came up north. I've represented this era with my original painting of Marc Bolan, digitally enhanced with filters and textures, in tints rather than full colour, to represent a time that has passed and never to be visited again, especially with Marc not of this world anymore; the flowers and stars though are still colourful and alive in his poetry and music recently released on albums and DVD, also a musical of Marc's life is now showing. With his music Marc lives on like flowers, colourful and bright to see through every season and the stars that sparkle and shine forever in the universe.
