Description
Another view of the famous Jacobite steam train from the platform a close shot from behind, looking spectacular as always, in this version I used a blue filter to bring out the amazing reflections of this famous steam engine. I love the deepness and electrifying effects of this type of blue, with bright indigo shades in the highlights and deep shadows. The Jacobite is a big tourist attraction in Mallaig harbour town, this is the original Hogwarts express used in the Harry Potter films. The train stops at this station en route to Mallaig at the village of Glenfinnan. Beyond Glenfinnan are the beautiful villages of Lochailort, Arisaig, Morar.. You may alight at Arisaig by request to the guard. From here, on a clear summer's day, you can see the Small Isles of Rum, Eigg, Muck, Canna and the southern tip of Skye. The train continues on from here passing Morar and the silvery beaches used in the films, Highlander and Local Hero. The train travels along the highland route of Ben Nevis and Loch Nevis, spectacular views are seen on this route. Mallaig is the end of the line and a fine place to stop before the trip back, I was fortunate to catch the train in the station when I arrived at Mallaig on my tour of the Highlands, it was a wonderful sight to see,
