Description
The avenue of Limes at Avenham park has become a cycle path, and if you want a peacefull stroll along there, make sure there's not a cycling event on that day, I was there at an event one day, without realising it, and the cyclists whizzed past me without warning nearly knocking me down, I was very aware of it after that and had to keep looking back as I strolled along as they were coming both ways. In the not too distant past cars were allowed down these avenues and after a number of years protests they finally pedestrianised it and now they have the bikes and it can be so annoying when there are young children playing, they are only supposed to go up to 5 miles an hour, most of them don't in my experience, so really it's best to make sure there are no cycling events on if you want a peaceful stroll along the riverside at Avenham Park
