Description
One of the oldest churches in Scotland which has a history dating back to Robert the Bruce. I caught the light and shadow without a flash, on this film photo, of the interior and windows of the church. I visited here whilst touring around Loch Awe with a coach holiday and this really made my day seeing such a beautiful place, it was difficult to photograph the interiors as we weren't allowed to use a flash...but I discovered a light and shadow phenomena with the photos with my camera set on a museum setting and it became one of my best film photos. This photo was taken way before I had a digital camera in the 1990's, there was a 200 yr old Oak tree by the gateway of the church, I don't know if it's still there, this is in full view of the windows and the light looked a golden colour as the sunlight seeped through them, these are Robert the Bruce Windows as well as St Conan's and St Douglas Windows ..there is a great deal of legend attached to this Awesome church at Loch Awe deep in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. I framed this photo in a Scottish stone style border in moss green, it looks a great colour combination, matching in with the tone of the pillars of the building and contrasting with the sunlight coming in through the windows.
