Medium
Painting - Indian Ink And Oil Pastel
Description
I surprised myself with this one composed of simple brush strokes in Indian ink, finished with oil pastel, the original work from my Herman collection. I did it when I was only a student during the time Peter Noon looked like this as the iconic Herman from Herman's Hermits fame, I even touched on a style of selective colour splash techniques with the added colour pastel to highlight his hair, this is one of my oldest surviving portraits I did from the 1960's

When I was a little girl, I remember standing in a huge crowd at our Ohio State Fair to get in to the show...it was Herman's Hermits and I was such a big fan! They were wonderful and this portrait brings back many happy memories of days gone by!....vf

Thankyou Karen, I saw them at The Empire theatre in Liverpool and the memory of Herman that evening is in this sketch, he had such a wonderful cheery smile, sparkling eyes and a lovely disposition of character :)
