Description
My version of the famous Bubbles was inspired after Sir John Everett Millias and is in pastel on tinted paper, rather than oils, my version has deeper larger angelic eyes, with a more cherubic feel about it. The work was originally called; A Child's World, and was used as an advertisement for Pear's Soap by Lord Leverhulme and then was renamed Bubbles, the bubbly curly hair and blowing of the soap bubbles fitted it's new title along with the soap. This version of my work includes a greeting for the new year, the bubbles being an allegory for champagne rather than soap for this celebratory greeting and is digitally enhanced in advertising poster style linear graining to give that impact of a poster or card or any other print that you choose to greet the new year in a nostalgic fashion. I change the date of this image each year and don't alter the main image, now showing 2024
