Description
A double portrait of Marc Bolan I produced with a full colour portrait and a monochrome portrait, they look fab together so I placed them in a black framed border, these portraits were hand drawn and painted and Marc has the classic 1970's silk shirt and velvet wide lapel jacket, I loved painting in the hair, he originated from the part of London my mother was bought up in and even went to the school she went to in London, William Wordsworth named after the famous poet, my mother was a very good poet, Marc is a poet too must be in the school name that came about lol originally he was a type of troubadour touring the country with his poetry to music in his original band Tyrannosaurus Rex in the 1960's there was only 2 of them at first, then they were discovered by a recording company in the 1970's and decided to go commercial calling themselves T Rex and playing heavy strummed rhythm type guitar twang with their first big hit Metal Guru and increased their band members to more rocky types...they dominated the charts in the early 70's and during 1977 Marc died tragically in a car crash of which he had a premonition about, so refused to drive because of it, the driver was Gloria Jones, she survived, so did her unborn baby, now Roland Bolan, that was quite a miracle they survived like that, this happened the year Elvis Presley died, 2 tragic rock losses in the same year, now there is a successful musical celebrating Marc's colourful life
