Description
A sculptured face of an Egyptian Queen, it could be Cleopatra, I created this from clay glazed fired with porcelain white glaze and black pearl glaze I used varnish in ruby for lips and cheeks, pearl blue for eyes, real gold leafing was used for her bandeau crown with gems inserted, I used texture to enhance her features, I've bordered it with an Egyptian style pattern in gold and added gold font to match, it looks just like the face of a recent archeological find of formidable Cleopatra, I can't believe how close it is to the likeness of my ceramic piece, I created this in 1998 during my study of sculptural and studio ceramics at college
