Description
Based on the style of the Impressionists, such as Manet and Renoir, I created a rose in a 3d rather than 2d art form, I was thereby trying to transfer the wonderful style of the impressionists into a sculptural art form and it worked, I used blue, as this cobalt blue was a favourite blue used by the impressionists along with the shades of cedar red that they used, as a contrast with the table that the dish is placed on. I used powdered blue glass fired with the sculptured dish to give it that shiny blue glow representing the dewy centre of a rose and the pool like swirl of its centre. The photo of this artwork somehow has a minimalistic sculptural appeal, so I also added it to my minimalism collection. Available in all items but only in smaller sized prints, accessories and greeting cards.
