Description
A lovely sunny summer's day in July, when all the wild flowers of the meadow are in bloom amongst the wild grasses, I took a walk on Birkdale Common in Birkdale, a province of Southport in Lancashire in North West England on the borders of Merseyside. In the distance across the meadow grasses, or field, you can see both Birkdale and Southport Beach with it's pier to the right and part of The Royal Birkdale golf course to the left in the far distance, a popular golf course that has held the open golf tournaments there quite often. Southport and its surrounding areas are quite flat with the only hills being the sand dunes, here it's quite apparent just how flat it is. I love the look, it's unique and gives a minimalistic look to this photo. There are streamlets and little bridges with clumps of different meadow flowers behind me and looking towards the coast here it is completely horizontal to the horizon a perfect look and the sky being so blue with just a few fluffy clouds adds to its magic, a very peaceful scene
